    Weight Loss Program Reviews

The LipoLaser is an effective tool for eliminating fat and cellulite, targeting trouble spots and for body contouring. In
order to eliminate dissolved fat a cardio routine or similar activity is recommended. A full body vibration device can
simulate cardio exercise and stimulate the lymphatic system. At Vancouver Lipo Laser all sessions include 10
minutes on the K1 vibrator immediately after the session.

The LipoLaser should be used in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle and
weight loss program. Weight Watchers is
one program which we review on this page. Vancouver Lipo Laser will feature more  weight loss system reviews in
the future.

                                       Weight Watchers

Review by Andrew McGivern
Vancouver LipoLaser

Weight Watchers is a weight loss system based on a flexible plan incorporating key elements of a healthy lifestyle.
Weight Watchers is different from other weight loss systems in that it is flexible, time tested and research based.
Weight Watchers began over 45 years ago and is based on what they call the Four Pillars Approach. It is a highly
flexible program allowing participants to eat what they like and encourages good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
They offer support in weekly meetings or online support and continued access to the system on an ongoing basis.

An international company,
Weight Watchers was founded by a homemaker from Brooklyn, Jean Nidetch. Weight
Watcher
s has grown dramatically over the past forty plus years and has expanded operations to 30 countries. The
first meeting held in 1963 and
Weight Watchers now has four decades of experience helping people lose weight
and maintain it. 97% of customers would recommend the system to a friend.

Weight Watchers is an integrated approach focusing on sound meal choices, a healthy lifestyle, exercise and a
support system. The plan allows you to eat what you like and encourages good nutrition and meal satisfaction. The
program goes beyond food and addresses the whole person.
Weight Watchers is based on The Four Pillars
approach which is based on years of scientific research. The Four Pillars include; Behaviour, Food, Support and
Exercise.

One of the key Four Pillars is Behaviour. Changing your behavior is the core of maintaining healthy weight loss but it
takes work and requires a good system to follow.
Weight Watchers behavior changing system consists of self
monitoring and cognitive skills. It involves maintaining awareness about your habits and activities and a method to
assess weight-loss progress.

In order to measure your success you need to track it. There are two
Weight Watchers plans which members can
choose from; the Flex Plan and the Core Plan.

The Flex plan involves tracking POINTS values to reach the daily target. The
Weight Watchers QUICKTRACK
system is included in the program materials as part of each weekly meeting. It includes a flexible, easy to use journal
where the specific food choices can be recorded or a simple check off method to count down the POINTS values can
be used.

Each food is given a specific POINTS value and you stop eating once you have reached your target for the day.

The Core Plan does not require counting POINTS but rather focuses on eating as much as is needed to feel
satisfied from a core list of wholesome, nutritious foods. A Comfort Zone scale is used to assess hunger and fullness
on an ongoing basis.

Another essential aspect of the Four Pillars is of course food.
Weight Watchers believes that each person in
unique in their food choices for healthy weight loss. Success is based on finding the method that fits with your
lifestyle and preferences. The
Weight Watchers food plans are designed to facilitate this.  Developing the ability to
put a moderate leash on your eating is the foundation of using these plans. Both the Flex Plan and the Core Plan
include a feature called a weekly allowance which allows for treats and the fulfillment of guilty pleasures without
sacrificing your weight goals.

Weight Watchers fundamental food choices for good nutrition includes:

•        At least five servings of fruits and veggies
•        Have at least two servings of milk
•        Drink at least 6 glasses of water
•        One or two servings of protein rich food
•        A multivitamin-mineral supplement
•        Limit added sugars and alcohol
•        Healthy oils – flaxseed, olive, coconut oil,
•        Choose whole grain foods

Another fundamental Pillar is exercise.
Weight Watchers recommends against starting your eating plan and your
exercise plan at the same time because research suggests that attempting both at the same time reduces probability
of success.
Weight Watchers suggests starting your exercise program two or three weeks after your food plan
begins in order to incorporate it into your lifestyle.
Weight Watchers promotes reducing sedentary behavior, taking
stairs instead of elevator, adding a walk to your routine, and other methods of increasing activity without distracting
you from your food plan goals.  Just like in the food plan each exercise activity carries a POINTS value which can be
swapped for Food POINTS on a one to one basis. Therefore you can earn the extra desert or grande caramel
mocha with a little extra sweating on the treadmill!

Finally, Support is the last of the Four Pillars but certainly not the least.  One of the key events at a
Weight
Watchers
meeting is the weekly weigh in. Being weighed by someone else keeps the motivation and the
commitment to the program top of mind. Progress can be tracked online to show a visual image of progress and to
display milestones achieved.

Regular weighing is important to the success of the system. Those who reach their target weight and maintain it
successfully for 6 weeks become a lifetime member of
Weight Watchers. This allows people who have achieved
and continually maintain their weight goal to stay continually connected with the process and people involved in the
achievement of their weight loss. This connection with the system helps to keep members at their goal weight for the
long term.

The
Weight Watchers meetings are conducted by a Weight Watchers Leader. All the leaders are successful
lifetime members who have had extensive training. These people become role models for new members. Attending
the meetings has been reported by many successful members as the key factor of their success.

The key to
Weight Watchers success is the flexibility of the plan. Rigid food choices and regimented exercise
requirements usually result in frustration and a return to old habits. This is what sets
Weight Watchers apart from
other methods of weight loss. You can eat what you want, when you want and as much as you want as long as you
don’t go over your POINTS target for the day. You can earn extra Food POINTS by swapping Exercise POINTS and
as long as you maintain commitment to the program, with the help of the support system, you will achieve safe,
healthy weight loss.

Weight Watchers Canadian Website www.weightwatchers.ca is loaded full of useful information including
